Question: Lice on the peach tree
About a month ago I planted in my garden a three-year-old peach tree purchased from the agricultural consortium, the peach tree blossomed and brought its first fruits but I noticed that the smaller leaves have wrapped around themselves and inside they are full of small white-gray lice, how should I contain myself? Thanks for your collaboration and congratulations on this wonderful site.
Peach aphids: Answer: Lice on the peach
first of all it is advisable to fertilize abundantly (if you have not already done so) the plant which is one of the most demanding and productive only if you reciprocate its generosity: 40 - 50 g / m2 of a good complex fertilizer rich in nitrogen will be sufficient until the end of May. As for aphids ("small lice"), it is advisable to spray insecticide products with translaminar or systemic properties (which move in the plant tissues) on the foliage to be able to hit the insects sheltered inside the curled leaves. We recommend using active ingredients such as Acefate or Imidacloprid, carefully reading the instructions for use.
